It seemed like many people had been through the room and the hallways, everything seemed worn and banged up- I was stunned to see it was renovated in 2020? The brown carpet and doors contributed to it seeming to me like a dated middle of the road Marriott, not a 5 star hotel. The air in the room smelled stale and like industrial chemicals. There were spots on the counter that hadn't been cleaned, a dead bug in the corner of the toilet room, a couple of hairs in the 'clean' towels, a hair on the sheets, buildup of gross dirt in corners, a film of industrial cleaning spray on the toilet seat, drips on the walls in the toilet room and doors, and finger prints and dirt on all the doors. The room was just plain dirty, in a way that would require not just a bad one-time cleaning, but an ongoing lack of upkeep and attention to detail. Parking is easy, free, and plentiful The bad, for us: 1. We arrived about half an hour or 45 minutes early and were able to check in early. The hotel tried to make it right with us, offering an upgrade (we declined because all the rooms are apparently in similar shape) and partial refund. Every employee we interacted with was professional and nice-valet staff was ON It and super helpful. I also want to spare others who might be more like me from having this kind of experience. The people we encountered on staff were nice, so I'm not writing this to hurt the hotel-I hope they are inspired to fix the housekeeping issues, and because the nice employees there deserve if to be fixed so the business can keep going. So, I was SO disappointed-I'm mystified how there are so many 5 star raves for this hotel. I researched carefully, and we wanted to find the best 5 star hotels we could for this trip. We stayed here for the last night of a 6 night 25th anniversary trip.
